About Us

The HEALinc Bridging-the-Future (BTF) Program focuses on Networking, Exposure, Training and Opportunity for a handful of exceptional and accomplished STEAM students in the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Running as a parallel program throughout the main HEALinc Summit, BTF has been part of our event since the inaugural conference in 2018 and has since remained one of the most unique components of the Summit. The HEALinc BTF program is sponsored by Doctors Hospital Healthcare System (DHHS) in Nassau, The Bahamas.

Building on the strengths of the past, the 2023 HEALinc BTF Program included a strong virtual component that connected local STEAM students to international opportunities in the USA and notable tech hubs in Africa. Additionally, for the first time in 2023, we opened our HEALinc BTF Program to include undergraduate scientists, nursing and medical students who immersed themselves in the main Summit to interact with conference delegates (scientists, healthcare providers, investors, and public policy experts) and posit questions to Summit Speakers during the Q&A and panel sessions. We plan to continue this inclusion of undergraduate students in the BTF Program during the upcoming 2024 Summit.

Thanks to additional sponsorship from Albany and the Windsor School (in addition to Doctors Hospital), HEALinc launched the HEALinc Bridging-the-Future Scholarship Program at the 2023 Summit. The scholarship offered the winner the opportunity to further develop their STEAM skills and talents at a technology summer camp during the summer of 2023. Second and third prize winners were awarded entry into the newly established Windsor School STEAM academy.
